Inspired by Mad Men - Engagement/Rehearsal Dinner Outfits

The AMC original series Mad Men, has taken the world by storm. I've watched the show from the very beginning, and now it is in it's 3rd season. It is an extremely well written show, and the clothes are spot on! I wished we lived in a time where women still wore dresses everyday, and men wore suits and hats just to go out to dinner on a Wednesday.

I have always been interested in the fashions of yesteryear, and while swooning over the fashion candy Mad Men has to offer, I stumbled across a lovely indie/vintage clothing site called Mod Cloth. I love them! Following their lead ("A Mod Affair"), I put together some outfits that would be perfect for the rehearsal dinner, or the engagement party, even for the engagement photos...take your pick! With outfits this stylish, you'll want to wear them everywhere. Or is that just me?

The looks are inspired by:

Betty Draper

Joan Holloway

Peggy Olson

Look #1 is on the way shortly in the next post...Stay tuned!

"Mary, Mary, quite contrary; how does your garden grow?" I swoon over garden party's/weddings. Flower motifs + mis-matched china + soft pastels = love!

Etsy Love - Foksy Scarves by celapiu

What a creative idea: "Foks" fur scarves with out the fur! These crocheted little numbers are a wonderfully inventive addition to a fall or winter wedding in need of quirky elgance. I love it!
