Paolo Nutini & Jehro - "What a day for a daydream" (cover)

I love "What a day for a daydream" by Lovin Spoonful. Even more, I love how Paolo and Jehro cover it. It would be fabulous for a trendy, hipster, or non-traditional wedding. Enjoy!

Photographer Spotlight: Ben Blood

I stumbled across Seattle photographer Ben Blood while perusing google the other day. His images blew me away. I love the lighting and the processing technique; it gives these photos a very romantic, even vintage feel.

From his website:

"Whether they are a young band or a young couple, I'm excited to document their stories with my camera. I enjoy capturing the emotion and significance of moments that you can't rewind. I aim to shoot photos that are spontaneous, genuine, and alive. It is difficult for a bride and groom to truly take in the whole experience of their wedding. After months of planning, it comes and goes in just a few hours. It is my goal to make their experience and memories tangible through quality photographs that they can reminisce with days and years down the road."

Bridal Style - Stephanie James Couture

Love, love, love! Actually love doesn't do it justice. These dresses are definitely going to be mine when the time is right. I'm so excited, I can hardly stand it!!

Say hello to Gwen. Silk taffeta with metallic, pink shimmer woven in; a bodice made of a pale pink lace with sparkly embroidery, and pockets! I'm in love!

This is Sasha. (my absolute fave!) Silk organza rushed bodice with matching flower. Full skirt with 3 layers of loveliness. And...

...It's convertible! The layers detach to create a sassy short number that thrills me to no end! I'm not kidding, it gives me chills!

Stephanie James Couture simply rocks my world! Her store is located in Huntington Beach, and is reminiscent of a vintage department store, from the decor and dresses right down to the floor! (really, the floor features hand painted black and white tiles!) You can order online, drop into her store, or one of the many bridal shops that stock her dresses. (check her website for more info)

Be sure to check her blog for the latest SJC news and new dress photos.

Mad About Cupcakes!

Cupcakes are my most favorite obsession. They're a guilt free, sweet dessert that always puts a smile on my face! Below are a few of the bakeries I am dying to try out and if they taste as good as they look, watch out! I may have to retract the guilt free statement.

Dessert Tables by Amy Atlas Events

Dessert tables are a fabulous way to present treats to guests at your reception. They are practical and if done right, can be real show stoppers! My favorite dessert table designer is Amy Atlas of Amy Atlas Events. For those of you who haven't yet been introduced to Amy, she is an event planner in New York who specializes in marrying beautiful celebrations and events with delectable desserts.

Over the past few months I have become slightly obsessed with her monochromatic table schemes and beautifully inspired approach to dessert. She simply blows me away with her eye for style and an insane attention to detail. Her tables are truly works of art.

Etsy Love - toybreaker "Ties that don't suck"

"Ties that don't suck." Her slogan says it all, and indeed they don't. Etsy seller Toybreaker, aka Bethany Shorb (the woman behind Cyberoptix TieLab ), offers hand-screened made to order neckties, scarves and other accessories in a variety of innovative designs and colors. The neckties are what caught my eye. Below are a few of my faves. She even offers discounted wedding party packages for the groom and his men.

I love pirates! Does your groom? This clipper ship tie is a fabulous way to incorporate his interest without being cheesy.

This one is perfect for the gear-head groom.

A wishbone for luck.

I really like the wood grain. This would be totally chic for an outdoor/ Eco-friendly wedding or a woodsy theme.

Check out more from her etsy store here.
